In the Bible there are countless times where people are told to go and tell what God has done for them. But sometimes we say “Worship for who God is, not because of what He has done for you.” I love the sentiment behind this for sure, but what if we worshiped God for who he is, pointing to what He has done for us?

God, through the sons of Korah in Psalm 48:12-14 says this,

“Walk about Zion, go around her, number her towers, consider well her ramparts, go through her citadels, that you may tell the next generation that this is God, our God forever and ever. He will guide us forever.”

“Look at Jerusalem and see who God is! Then tell the next generation that God did this for us!” That is what is being said here. The Psalm says to look around Jerusalem and see how beautiful of a city it is, how grand it is and how majestic all of its defenses and structures are. He then says that because of what a great city that they have, the next generation can see who God is and know that He is their guide forever. As we go through life, we see God do so many things for us, big and small. We should tell people of those things that God has done for us and let that bring us to worship God for who He is. What has God done for you that points to who He is?

Remember what He has done for you in the past and let that show you what kind of God is looking out for you today.
